대한금속∙재료학회지는 국내외 금속 및 재료 관련 연구 논문들을 게재하는 대한금속∙재료학회의 대표적인 국문학술지로써, 금속 및 재료분야의 논문부터 나노재료, 생체재료, 기능성재료, 에너지재료 및 신소재에 이르기까지 폭넓은 금속 및 재료분야의 논문을 게재하고 있으며, 공식적인 ISO표기 명칭은 Korean J. Met. Mater.입니다.

대한금속∙재료학회지는 1963년에 창간되어 1976년까지 금속학회지(ISSN 0454-627X), 1977년부터 1999년까지 대한금속학회지(ISSN 0253-3847)로 발행되었으며, 2000년부터 현재까지 대한금속∙재료학회지(ISSN 1738-8228)로 매년 12회 발행을 하고 있습니다.

대한금속∙재료학회지는 1998년부터 한국연구재단에 등재되었고, 2007년 1월부터는 SCOPUS와 Science Citation Idex Expanded (SCIE)에 등재되었습니다.

The Korean Journal of Metals and Materials is a representative Korean-language journal of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials (KIMM); it publishes domestic and foreign academic papers related to metals and materials, in abroad range of fields from metals and materials to nano-materials, biomaterials, functional materials, energy materials, and new materials, and its official ISO designation is Korean J. Met. Mater.

Founded in 1963, the Korean Journal of Metals and Materials has been published twelve times annually, up to 1976 as the Journal of Metals (ISSN 0454-627X), from 1977 to 1999 as the Korean Journal of Metals (ISSN 0253-3847), and since 2000 as the Korean Journal of Metals and Materials (ISSN 1738-8228).

The Korean Journal of Metals and Materials has been registered with the National Research Foundation of Korea since 1998 and with SciVerse Scopus and the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) since January 2007.
